COMMUNITY is 1 of the 4 pillars that Pikes Peak Parrot Rescue bases its mission on and the way 3PR lives this out is to invite you, our community, in to the good, the bad and the ugly of what we do. It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we need to share with you that an incredibly difficult decision was made to let Angel spread his wings and cross the rainbow bridge, no longer in pain. Angel was in the care of a great veterinary team who believed that Angel's frail body could not handle surgery to remove the infection and tumor that was rapidly growing. It is a sad week at 3PR and while our hearts are broken, our passion is renewed to fulfill the mission of Pikes Peak Parrot Rescue. The Angel Project will continue so that Angel's legacy will save many, many other birds from neglect and abuse.
The relinquishment team just pulled two more large birds from a horrifying situation where they were living in dog crates, caked with feces over 6" deep and surviving in the dark. Sadly, there are many more in our community that we do not even know about yet.
This ALL volunteer team needs your help. Every dollar donated directly impacts each bird at 3PR so that their story does not end like Angel's. This is where the 3PR COMMUNITY shines and if you are reading this, you are part of the 3PR community. EVERY dollar donated makes a difference. Please click on the links below to make a monthly, recurring donation or a one-time donation. Angel's veterinary bills are substantial. We also look forward to your hugs when this virus is contained.
